Scholarship Application Information for 2023-2024
The due date for first-time and renewing applications (for those who have received a previous scholarship) is March 15 each year.
For Direct Member Employer Companies of the Automotive Recyclers Association (a-r-a.org).
If your company is a Direct Member of ARA, you or your college or trade school eligible child or children can apply for the Educational Scholarship, funded by ARA members. All scholarship awards are based on academic excellence and are available to the following seeking a post-high school education:
1) An employee’s child/children
2) An owner’s child/children
3) An employee
We consider this valuable benefit as an investment into the future, and helps a student to realize their dreams of higher education.

- Up to 4 years of scholarship awards of $1,000/year for any field in trade/tech schools, colleges, or universities.
- Automotive industry related studies are eligible for $2,000/year for up to 4 years of scholarships.
- The funds are available only to ARA members’ employees, owners, and their child/children for post-high school educational pursuits.
- Each year, past recipients must renew their application to continue to receive future awards.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Requirements for first-time applicants:
The ARA Scholarship Foundation wishes to thank all of its donors! Your generosity assist in providing students with funds to further their post-high school education. A list of past year’s recipients is printed each year in Automotive Recycling magazine.
Requirements for first-time applicants:
- Be enrolled as a high school senior, or be employed by an ARA Direct Member facility, and plan to continue or pursue a full-time post high school program in a college, university, or accredited school providing trade, business or technical programs.
- College/University applicants must have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average, or the equivalent, in their previous educational program. Accredited Trade, Business or Technical School Program applicants must have achieved at least a 2.0 grade point average, or equivalent, in their previous educational program.
- Requirements for renewal applicants:
- Renewal applicants for College/University must have achieved at least a 2.75 grade point average, or the equivalent, in their previous educational program.
- Renewal applicants for Accredited Trade, Business or Technical School must have achieved at least a 1.75 grade point average, or equivalent, in their previous educational program.
- A parent or employee must be a current employee of a Licensed Direct/Branch Recycler Member of ARA with a hire date at least one year prior to March 15 of the application year.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation in any amount or a named scholarship to honor a person of your choice, with a $1,000 donation for one year. For a $10,000 donation, a permanent scholarship may be named. Contributions may be made
