ARA President Addresses IMPA
ARA President Sandy Blalock visited New York City on Thursday, April 17 to address the International Motor Press Association (IMPA). IMPA, which is made up of automotive journalists and public relations professionals, invited ARA to address their monthly luncheon meeting. The event usually highlights informative speakers on topics relevant to the automotive industry. Over the years IMPA has featured such speakers as former Chrysler President, CEO and Chairman Lee Iacocca; former Ford CEO Jac Nasser; and GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner.
Blalock provided a broad overview of the automotive recycling industry and the process by which automobiles are dismantled and recycled. In addition, she emphasized ARA’s CAR, Gold Seal and Air Bag Protocol programs that are leading the industry. “It was a tremendous opportunity to highlight ARA’s various services and programs to increase public awareness of the industry's role in environmental conservation and to promote a greater awareness of our industry's parts as a high quality, low cost alternative for the automotive consumer,” Blalock said. She added, “I believe we put ARA in a lot of rolodexes yesterday that will be invaluable in promoting the automotive recycling industry for many years to come.”
