ARA Applauds West Virginia Supreme Court Recognition that Recycled OEM Parts Are “Diametrically Different” than Aftermarket Parts

MANASSAS, VA – The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) applauds the recent West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals ruling that the state's Automotive Crash Parts Act does not apply to the use of salvage/recycled OEM parts and as such, affirms the use of salvage/recycled OEM crash parts in vehicle repairs when such repairs are negotiated by insurers within the year of the vehicle's manufacture, or in the two succeeding years.

ARA Announces Keynote Speakers for 71st Annual Convention and Exposition

MANASSAS, VA – The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) announced today that John Van Alstyne, CEO and President of I-CAR, and Christy Wright, a member of the Dave Ramsey Speakers Group, will be keynote speakers for ARA's 71st Annual Convention and Exposition.  The announcement came as online registration opened for the premier event of the professional automotive recycling industry.  ARA's 71st Annual Convention and Exposition will take place October 22-25, 2014 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

MANASSAS, VA – Professional Automotive Recycler David Gold, Standard Auto Wreckers, Toronto, Ontario, was nominated to be the next Secretary of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) at the ARA Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC on June 18, 2014.  The Board will vote to confirm Gold's nomination during ARA's 71st Annual Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee later this year.

This week General Motors CEO Mary Barra is set to testify on Capitol Hill for a second time regarding the massive ignition switch recall, and ARA members from across the nation are in Washington for the association's annual Hill Day to advocate on behalf of the professional automotive recycling industry and their need for parts data.
